Linda with dual Blue Ribbon winner Brandon Venegas on "Dunny" at the recent ETI Corral 57 Horse Show.
Growing up my mother was a wrangler for the studios she also trained wild animals. After the studio days were over, she bought a ranch and named it Wild Wind. Which was a rehab for Throughbred race horses, acquired from Devonshire Downs. With a 52 stall barn and a quarter mile track in our backyard, I was destined to be a horsewoman. Also breeding and showing Quarter horses in performance and halter, it was a family affair. In the late 80’s-90’s, working with the Police Department we helped intercity children improve their productivity in society with horses.
Following that suit, I have ever since been a part of using horses to help children, foster children, and children that are dependents of the court. It has been my life’s passion to see horses and children helping each other. For 30 years, I have taught over hundreds of children and adults to ride both English and Western, making it fun and a knowledge gaining experience. I’m so lucky to have found Sue Gruber and OSO Ranch so that I can continue to help rescued horses and children rehabilitate their lives. One once said, If your job is your passion, you will never work a day in your life, which is very true when I am at the ranch.
